Let the Games Begin

It’s 30 days till the London Olympics begin. I have updated my book about the history of the modern Olympics, The Games. And it is now in the shops.

I’m not really a sporty person, but writing this book has given me a real interest in the Olympics. I’m keen to see who will be the new sporting stars, who will bow out (gracefully or otherwise) and which unknowns will suddenly become international household names (not necessarily for sporting prowess).

What dramas will unfold in the sporting arenas and behind the scenes? Will there finally be an equal number of male and female athletes? And of course, I’m looking forward to the opening and closing ceremonies. Rumours are flying about which British stars, past and present, will perform. They might not be able to match the budget of Beijing, but I’m depending on the Brits to put on quite a show.

  1. Hi. My Daughter and I have loved reading your Dragon Keeper series. I am trying to purchase a complete matching set for her school library to be donated in the name of her teacher. I can’t find ‘Dragon Keeper’ in the second edition Australian covers, so looked for the new edition covers, but they seem to not include Dragon Dawn. Are you able to point me to where I might find a full matching set please?

I’m looking forward to reading more of your work, the Ramose series is next on our reading list.

    Thanks,

    Josephine and Mary
