Blood Brothers Cover

I just received my advance copy of Blood Brothers  which is the 4th book in the Dragonkeeper series.  It’s always an exciting event finally having a book to hold in your hands after a year or more working on it. Also you see the cover as others are going to see it for the first time. Up until now I’d only seen it in digital form.

I love the cover. I think it is just gorgeous. Sonya Kretschmar has done a fabulous job. She has also done new covers for the earlier books so that they all match. They are also lovely. I will post them a bit closer to publication date (which is sometime in May).

For those who may not have read my earlier posts, Blood Brothers is set 400 years after Dragon Moon. Kai is grown up (sort of) and he is looking for a new dragonkeeper. He has his eye on Tao, but Tao is concentrating on becoming a Buddhist monk and doesn’t want to be distracted.

  3. wow i did not know there would be another dragon keeper book, i really enjoy your books! Is this going to be another story about Ping? will it include Kai and Danzi?
Will this new book be released in the USA?

  4. Dragonkeeperrox,
No this story is not about Ping. As I said in the post, it is set 400 years after the other books. It is about Kai and a boy called Tao.
I don’t know if it will be published in the USA. I hope so, but it will depend on a publisher there wanting to take it up. Unfortunately, I don’t have any control over that.

  5. dear carole,
i think that the new cover for the dragon keeper series is great. i have a question for you. my friend kerri has never wanted tp read the seris or even one book but i know she would like them. what would you say are some of the best things about your book. shes here with me know and wants to ask you some questions.
what is so good about the books?
what made you start writing the books?
have you liked writing since you were young?
what got you intrested in the dragon books?

please awnser to my friend, kerri’s, questions

  6. Madi, Kerri,
Not everyone will like my books. Some people prefer stories set in modern times. If Kerri prefers to read other books and you, Madi, can’t convince her, then that’s the way it is and that’s okay. Millions of people like books about vampires, but I don’t. I read one and I still don’t like them.
I don’t know what it is that makes people like my books, but people all around the world like them. I started writing the books because I came up with an idea for a story I really wanted to tell. I didn’t start writing until I was 40. I was interested in dragon mythology from around the world, particularly fromChina. Have a look at my FAQs if you want to know more about what inspired Dragonkeeper.
    I appreciate your support, Madi,

  7. Wow can’t wait!! love the Dragon keeper series just finished reading Dragon Moon. When will it be released?

  8. Hi!
    I love your Dragonkeeper series!
Though i think you should have started a new series with tao.. like in vampire acadamy Richelle Mead started a new series revolving around different characters.
Though if i spot one of your books I’ll be sure to buy it 🙂
Will their be a continuation of Kai and Tao?
Please do keep writing about them, even though I have not read Blood Brothers, I’m pretty sure that I’ll love it!

  9. Remember me i was at the writers festival at melbourne federation square and i told you to never stop writing your books because i love them,do you? your books are like movies i am up to blood brothers know you also gave me an autograph and the chinese stamp too! great job you are the best!!!

  10. Hey Carole.
U said tht the book will be out May. How come i havent seen it in library’s or book stores? i have only seen them on line. BTW i live in Australia….
P.s I LURRRRVEED the rest of the series so i hope i will enjoy this one

  11. It should be in bookshops. Did you ask the bookseller if they have it? If they don’t they can order it in for you. Your school or local library should also have it. I don’t know where you are, which bookshops have you been to? Dymocks would have it.

  12. Hi Mrs Wilkinson
    Your books are absolutely amazing
Please continue making books for us to read
    Thank you very much
    Mrs Wilkinson

  13. Chinnu and Astronaut7457,
Don’t worry. I will continue to write books. I am writing a book right now (or at least I was just before I decided to answer blog comments!).

  14. Debbie,
I don’t know if it will be published in the US. At the moment no US publisher has expressed an interest in publishing it. Authors don’t have any control of these things.
