Guest Blogging

Guest blogging seems to be all the rage at the moment. I haven’t had time to do anything on my own blog, but I did do a guest spot on Gillian Polack’s Blog for Women’s History Month. It’s about how Sharon Penman inspired me to become a historical novelist. I sent it off to Gillian and it turns out she is practically best friends with Sharon Penman!

  1. Hi carole,
Im a huge fan of you and your books the Dragonkeeper series.I’ve been reading your blog and noticed that your writting your next book 400 years in.Persanally i think you should still have ping and all her friends/family and dragons around because it just not going to be the same.

  2. Madi,
No it will not be the same, and I guess that is what I’m hoping for, a new story that will keep me interested, and hopefully also interest readers. It may not, I don’t know.

  3. well i think you should at least write a small version( like dragon dawn )of a book that goes beetween dragon moon and the new book at least then we dont have to go without knowing what happened with ping and all her friends

ps. thank you for answering i really appreciate it

    pss. your books are fantastic

  4. carole,
in the dragon moon ping says that she thinks danzi is dead is he or did he make it to the island of blest
cause i really hope hes alive

    madi

  5. Madi,
I have an idea for a way that people can learn what happened to Ping. I’m still thinking about that. There isn’t enough to fill even a small book though. She just had a quiet life. As I haven’t written it though, you can imagine her life yourself.
No I don’t know what the next book will be called yet, or even if I’ll finish it. I find titles hard to come up with. Often I don’t think of them until right at the end.
In Dragon Moon, Ping tells readers her feelings about whether Danzi is dead or alive. Now it is up to you to decide whether you agree with her or not.

  6. do you think ping will like a quiet life it just seems strange when she’s had so much adventure

  7. Madi,
I know what I think, and I think I made it clear in Dragon Moon, but since I haven’t said definitely, I leave it open for readers to make their own decision, and imagine their own stories for things that happen outside the story.

  8. Madi,
Sorry I didn’t answer your previous post. I don’t know how I missed it.
Yes I think Ping will enjoy a quiet life. She might look back on her adventures with fondness, and she will definitely miss Kai and Danzi, but I don’t think she will be sorry that she and her family aren’t at risk of being killed by dragon hunters.

  9. hi carole i love dragon keeper and what are your family members all of the and there names i need i for an assinment about you

  10. Carole i can’t find anything about you and i need it for an assignment. Can you tell me a bit about yourself.

  11. Jess,
I don’t know what you want to know about me. You will have to be more specific.
Have a look at wikipedia, and my About page on this website and the FAQs. Then let me know what in particular you need to know.

  12. Jess,
I still don’t really know what sort of things you want to know. I was born in England. I enjoyed school. I had mumps. My family emigrated when I was 12. If you have specific questions I can answer them.
