I am a big fan of yours and have read dragonkeeper, garden of the purple dragon and i am reading dragonmoon!I am only 10 and am glad I have read your books because it earned me and A plus in school!. but i have a qustion and was wondering if you could answer it?,seeing as i am writing my own book i was wondering how you make your storys so long i mean i’ve only writen 1 page and you’ve written more than 5 books and those books are large so can you please answer my question

  4. Hi Sarah,
Glad to hear you liked my books.
I have written some tips for young writers on my FAQs page. I think that every story takes as long as it takes to tell. You can’t make it longer than it is. A story can take one page or 600 pages. The most important thing is making the story as good as you can make it. When I started writing I started writing short stories. I wrote for four or five years before I attempted a novel. I hope that helps. Good luck with your writing.

  5. hi i love your books sooo much my favourite one is dragon moon and they are soo great i am going too read all 3 agian and i am only 11. emma

  6. Emma,
I’m glad to hear that Dragon Moon is your favorite of the Dragonkeeper series. And I’m delighted that you enjoyed them so much that you want to read them again.

  7. Hello I love your books. When I saw that I had finished the series I coudn’t believe it I really didn’t want to finish them.My favourite book out of the series was Dradonkeeper the first one.It would be great if you wrote another book out of the series. I am only turning 10 this week and I’ve already finished the books.Emma

  8. Hey Carole!
My name is Olivia and im soon turning 12. I love all your books, which ive read and i was wondering wether you were thinking of fliming a movie for dragonkeeper.

  9. Olivia,
It would be great to have a Dragonkeeper movie, but I’m not a film producer. I have to wait until one comes along who wants to make the movie. Maybe one day.

  10. I’d consider myself lucky.
    You’re coming to Melbourne.

    Too bad I don’t know where Bourke.St is…

I’ve finished reading the Dragonkeeper series, I really wanted to read a fourth book. Oh well..

I’m currently doing a bibliography of you for school, I have some questions.
Maybe you could put on your FAQ somethings that aren’t related to your books?
Like maybe your favourite colour, food, holiday destination, things like that.
That would be great help to get for my bibliography.

Anyway, keep up the great work!
I might draw some art for you, I so happen to be a computer art drawer.

  11. Victoria,
Bourke St is pretty much the main street in the city of Melbourne.
No one has ever asked me my favourite colour, so that isn’t in my Frequently Asked Questions! I like purpley mauve colours and Japanese food. For holidays I like to go somewhere I’ve never been before.
I’d love to see your art.

  12. I weep all night over the end of “Dragon Moon” it was one of the best books I have ever read!

  13. Dear carole, as i’m doing a fact file on you, i was wondering when your b’day was and what are your interests and favourite things
    vivienne z

  14. Vivienne,
My birthday is 12 July. Apart from writing, I like to watch movies, garden and knit. My favourite food is Japanese and my favourite colour is purple. I like lots of different sorts of music including the Beatles, REM and Pink Floyd.

  15. Roz,
I’m sorry Dragon Moon made you so sad! I thought it was a pretty happy ending, all things considered. Glad you liked it anyway.

  16. I wanted to thank Carole for writing a book that my 12 year old could not put down! He read his first book by Carole in 3 days….The Dragon Keeper.

I was thrilled to find it was part of a trilogy and hopefully my son will now be an avid reader now that he has found that a writer can transport you to another world that is more interesting than the PS2 or XBox!

    Thank you Carole!!

  17. Hey, Carole, it’s me, Elizabeth.
I would’ve liked to see you in Adelaide and bought a signed copy of the Dragon Companion but unfortunately it was the school holidays and I don’t have the internet at home thanks to my brother. I sent a letter. It took a while for me to send it because I put in amongst my Dad’s things and i couldn’t find it for a while. I eventually sent it.

  18. Elizabeth,
Sorry you couldn’t make it. Did you get a reply to your letter? I’m not at home at the moment so I can’t check.

  19. drachenkonigin,
I’m sorry, I don’t know when Dragon Moon will be published in Germany. If you email the German publisher, they should be able to tell you.

  20. hm, i`m interested in which countries your dragonkeeper and dragonmoon books are published?

  21. dachenkonigin,
They are published in 14 countries: Australia, UK, USA, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, Finland, Sweden, Japan…I can’t remember the others, they haven’t actually come out yet.
If you click on the Dragonkeeper icon at the top of this page, it will take you to the Dragonkeeper page and you can see all the covers from different countries.
